My buddy dog is ancient but took offense to the birds stealing his food. Now, this is just my dog and I don't recommend it but my turkey came too close the one day and the dog went after her. She trjed to climb onto our deck to get away and couldn't so she just decided to sit down and be eaten. The dog just stopped and looked at her. Since then the birds have taken over his life! Maybe your dogs just need some close contact to make friends with the flock.
