How do you administer Flubenvet when the bird won't eat?

I have a young Orp that is "gaping" but won't eat. I've been giving it doses of Avitrol Plus, for a couple of days now, and it doesn't seem to be helping.

I have Flubenvet, but the bird won't take it on a grape and I can't jam the powder down it's throat.
Has anyone mixed a paste with a bit of water or oil to administer it?

Flubenvet is not meant to be administered to a single bird without being mixed with feed. As you say the chicken won't take the grape then try mixing the correct amount with some Cod liver oil and Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar to moisten the feed and help the Flubenvet stick to the feed. The ACV will make the feed more attractive to the bird and help with acidifying her digestive tract and add beneficial bacteria as well.

You may try to obtain levimisole or tetramisole from your vet. It comes in a drench or injection and is a one day treatment. This drug is not specified for chickens and as such it does not have a withdrawal time published. But it is worth a try. I would not eat her or her eggs for a very long time.

Is she stretching her neck as she opens and closes her mouth? Is her head shaking back and forth? Are her eyes closed? If not, she may not have Gape worms. When was her last worming and what product was used then?
