I've realized that there are a lot of great members on this forum and a bunch would make super moderators.
I've also realized that even if people are super perfect members, they may not ENJOY being moderators (even if they think they would). It does require a bit of tongue biting and the ability to resist the temptation to always speak ones mind.

I mod several forums, including which I can't even state exist. It's not as much fun as you'd think because there is always part of me who wants to be the one arguing, flaming and being a PITA.
What you do learn very quickly is there are patterns of people with similar behaviors and just different names. There are the trolls, the arguers, the righteous indignatious, the know-it-alls, etc. All require a different handling, and sometimes muting, to keep things moving smoothly.

Honestly, there is no way I would want to be a moderator. When teaching you have to be so careful about how you word every little thing, and you have to juggle lots of personalities in your class, which, though rewarding can be both tedious and stressful. The last thing I would want is to have to do that in my relaxing time. Of course I try not to be rude or disrespectful, but I am opinionated and love a good debate. I do appreciate the upbeat tone that the Mods all work to keep the forum at. If it weren't for the Mods many of those good discussions would quickly degrade to name-calling and BYC at large would suffer.
Well...when I grow up, I want to be a Mod too!
