How do you clean your dishwahser???

I use this stuff that you get at wal mart or any grocery store its made by jet dry and its meant for the dishwasher it goes in the silverware basket and thats all you do, it cleans the rust stains and everything

The place I bought my dishwasher told me to use an envelope of Tang.

Okay, dumb question... All these things you guys use, (lemon, baking soda, etc) do you just throw them in the machine? Or put it in the slot that the soap goes in?
