How Do You Cool Off Your Chickens? (112 degrees in Southern NM!)

Has been 108+ here in Happy Valley, CA last two days. Misters are doing well and we have three of the reusable ice blocks ($1.96 at WalMart), they are about 6" square and the girls LOVE them. Put them in our wine barrel cooler (posted pictures earlier in this thread) and they go right in and sit on them - some times there is not enough room for all who want to get in - they take turns, it's a hoot!

This has turned into a wonderfully informative thread.....so many great ideas!!!!

My thanks to ALL who have taken the time to share their "cooling" knowledge with me and their fellow BYC'ers.

BYC people are the best!

I fill a milk jug with water and freeze it. I then put it in the coop. Most of the time I let them free range so they can cool off in the shade.

How do I find the Arizona thread? Also, there was a link someone provided on countrychickens.com, but the link didn't work for me
