How do you diagnose Worms ? Shouldn't you be able to see them ? And what is a good product to de

You can really only see 1 or two kinds of the many worms chickens get, and even then you won't always see worms in all of their poops. I had a hen sleep in the same spot every night, and I only saw a round worm in her droppings once. Flubenvet isn't available in the US, but SafeGuard (fenbendazole) and Valbazen (albendazole) are. They are the best wormers available because they get most chicken worms that chickens get, and even with tapeworm and gapeworm which are rarer, they will kill them with special dosing. SafeGuard is available in equine paste and as a liquid goat wormer, and are more affordable than Valbazen. Here is a link about poultry worms to show you all of the many worms: http://www.merckmanuals.com/vet/poultry/helminthiasis/overview_of_helminthiasis_in_poultry.html

Birds can have worms without seeing them in feces. Worms will weaken a chicken to the point that they become susceptable to bacterial, viral, and/or fungal problems. Birds become lethargic, slowed or stopped eating/drinking/laying eggs. Worms also cause damage to internal organs.
