Beaker! That's adorable! Yep, he's a silkie! His babies will likely have the mamma's feathers, his comb, skin, and toes. The two breeds are similar in type. If you bred the babies back to him or another Silkie, half of them should have silkied feathers.

Here's a pic of my girl I got from a feed store. She was supposed to be a cochin, but after my own post questioning her silkieness, she appears to be a cross breed. she is small, very poofy and has very soft feathers. She was also my first layer, at about 18 weeks...

What beautiful birds you all have posted !! I got some Banties from Ideal last Sept. Just a grab bag to go with all the girls I had ordered too. Just for fun. I think I have 4 roos out of 7.
One is a little black Cochin frizzle...hoping she's a girl. Also a small white girl that I think is some sort of game hen, and a very pretty silver laced Chochin such as Lacey that was posted. Hope those 3 stay girls. I have 2 very pretty game type roos and 2 Cochins....buff. Need one ??? NOT TO EAT !!! I plan on keeping one of the buff Cohins..or all if I can't rehome them LOL
