How do you get rid of hawks?

The chickens should quiet down once they have a hiding place.Lol,not a peep or a feather moves for quite some time.Only option that might get the hawk to move on is to fence them up in a covered run.Unfortunately the hawk has other things it can eat,so it will stay in its territory more often than not.

Regarding chickens, I am a n00b working on the wisdom/experience. Birds of prey I am a lot more familiar with, though. While crows will harass hawks, most often for fun (and also if they are nesting anywhere nearby), they are not enough to keep hawks permanently (or even mostly) out of any particular area. If the hawks are finding food in an area, they'll come back; crows or not.

Unless you put a barrier between your chickens and the hawks, then you're ever running the risk losing chickens to them (owls, too).
