. 41 birds here on a hot day use about 8-10 gallons

40 are producing hens they consume quite a bit with 10 being very large Cochins

Oh okay, then that makes sense. They probably spill quite a lot too.

I have no idea..... If the feeder or watered is low or empty I fill it, if it is dirty I clean it out and fill it....

But how much do I use? No idea! Sorry I couldn't be helpful.

Yeah, its pretty hard to get the numbers right. Because some you waste and then your forget and so on and so forth.

Oh okay, then that makes sense. They probably spill quite a lot too.

. They may indulge in a foot bath now and again and my chicken herding dog may help to empty them also these are free ranging birds and the two five gallon fountains are out around the property for the hen house I use nipples on a six gallon bucket and refill once a week, the fountains on hot days will be drained completely
