How do you go about creating these colors?

Quote:
silver duckwing: silver quail roo over bbr hens. Keep backcrossing to bbr to get rid of columbian factor and melanizers.
laced: try sebright. They also have the birchen gene you need for goldneck, whatever that is, and ... birchen.
Birchen/Goldneck: cross the above (sebright crosslings) to bbr to get rid of the lacing genes and the henny feathering. Keep crossing to bbr or silver duckwing to do that. Keep track of your birchen gene though and eventually get it pure once you got rid of the linked lacing genes (Db-Ml-Pg) and all the columbian-like restrictors (affect black breast).
Buff columbian: cross buff male with quail hens.
columbian: cross silver quail male to buff hens.
Sorry, you should be out of coops already...

Thanks Henk69,
That's very encouraging, oh, I can always build new pens! LOL
Like I said, I anit scared to do that!! Thanks so much for all your help. Very nice to have folks share this type of info, as it's very hard to come by, like I told Rareroo, those that know, are usually very tight lipped on their info, so THANKS!
Aubrey

Wow, I love your pens. When I win the lottery, we are getting some, lol. Love the added bird pictures too. I have always liked d'anvers.

Thanks Becky,
They arent too expensive! LOL
Just time consuming to build....
Thanks for the comments on the birds, they have always been one of my favorites too, thus the desire to see more colore patterns in them. There's a Germany website with about 27 different colors/patterns of them on it, but noone here has them, so....thime to make them.

Everybody please keep the suggestions coming, I am writing down all of them.
Aubrey

I save threads here that interest me to my Favorites, then I can find them anytime I need to(this one is already in there).
Yeah, it is the building part that would be the problem, Phil has become increasingly irritated with my "I need to build a new chicken pen this weekend! Don't worry, I already started it." LOL. "You don't have to help if you don't want to but I AM going to get it finished..."

BBB, the Serama breeder working on red pyle is using a het dom white hen and a wheaten male. He was told to use BBR, but he doesn't have one, he has a wheaten. Out of 16 chicks, 12 are white and 4 are "dun splashed", I don't know what that means. He thinks that those four have promise. You can follow his progress, or maybe collaborate with him, on the SCNA forum!

Thanks Catwalk, I'll do that.

as for the Germany link, here it is.

If you dont speak Germany, go to the top of the page, click the word in the center that say,"bildgalerie" or something like that,

then on the next page, click the British flag, this will take to to an English set of pics, on the left margin, you'll see "standard colors" and "nun standard colors"

Click either and you can see pics of all the amasing birds they have over there, kind of makes me sick, cause no one here has them!!!

Nice website! Makes me wish I had kept up with my German! I used to be first-year-fluent; I even got separated from a classmate for talking with him too much in class (we were talking in German; what were we suppossed to do if the others couldn't keep up)!
