How do you guys hang your heat lamps?

We are setting up our first brooder for chicks arrive the week of May 2010. We have a 250 watt red heat lamp with a metal cage that came with the brooder kit. My husband thinks that the best way to handle the lamp is to somehow attach it to a camera tripod that will sit outside the brooder and make adjustments with the tripod. I haven't seen this mentioned in this thread. Does anyone else use this setup. Can you post a pic or details of your setup. We are not handy and need an easy setup with no carpentry involved.
