I have a bunch of shipped silkie eggs that go into lockdown in 3 days and almost every one of them hs funny-shaped air cells. Some are saddle shaped, a couple remind me of mickey mouse..

I've been reading a lot of posts on here and there doesn't seem to be a certain way to do this. Do you hatch yours in cartons or lay them flat to hatch? Mine have been in cartons from day one, didn't turn for the first 5 days. Started with 13 and 11 are still growing and seem healthy...

Sounds like u did everything right. I have noticed I have better hatch rates if they r upright with good humidity with these misshaped air cells. I have been shipping and receiving shipped silkie eggs for years and got to say that silkie eggs never ship well at all no matter how u pack them. Good luck with your hatch.
