How do you hold & pet your chicks / chickens?

I've been holding my chicks with their feet on one palm, with the other palm gently pushing them to lie down. After a while they learned to lie down by themselves. Then I found that they enjoy being stroked along the backside of their necks ... like in this picture.

Then a friend taught me to hold their bellies with their feet hanging under the hand. This avoids pooping on the hand. But not all my chicks like to be held this way.

Care to share your "techniques"? Perhaps share some pictures?

Yep, I hold mine with hand under belly so they are facing backwards, this keeps them confined and its great with peckers, none of mine peck but others do!!!Mine dont like it much either but they get used to it and know no harm will come to them.
However if im hypnotising one I cuddle it by having her on my knee and stroke her head and neck till her eyes shut!!!
