I found a design I really liked (curtesy of Rurally Screwed, don't want to annoy anyone!) I think it would work great for us, with the addition of a raised area for them to sleep on that I could close a door to. I guess I'm just weird about wanting them CLOSED in.
We lost our small flock to either a fox or coyote last January. Completely my fault, didn't close the coop door one night. I also came out of the house many months later after hearing the chickens alarming, to be 20 feet away from a coyote. At 10am! I watched him as he ran back over the fields to a wooded area about a mile away.
