How do you keep ducklings (and their bedding) dry in brooder???

Sure don't want to find this

Duckling was not hurt.
That is 100% true. I would hate to find that or worse. That is one reason I waited till they were older to use the milk jug and just dealt with the mess till then.

I completely gave up and put them in the tub. Still have to clean but it's way easier. I'm not even sure where the water comes from to get everything so wet because there is not that much missing from the water pail.

I’m dealing with a similar issue.... but with 23 ducklings :barnie.

In the past I’ve trained them to drink from nipple drinkers (but with a daily bath to allow them to clean their nostrils and eyes).

Although I also use the chick drinker on mesh platform setup which also works really well.

I have 8 ducklings in a brooder, and boy are they a handful in regards to upkeep. They constantly play in the water and get their bedding all soaked.View attachment 1324184 This is the water unit I have and they just make a complete mess. Tips and tricks?

I can't even imagine 8. I have 3 and its a mess.

I used a shallow pan with a cookie cooling rack on top. The tiny ducklings can still walk on it and it catches all the water they get everywhere when splashing. Not sure you can see in the photo under the feed and water.
