How do you keep your butter?

I have the butter bell too. A few years ago I bought white ones & painted them & gave them to several people for Christmas presents. It works great!
During the summer I drop an ice cube in the water part of it & change it every couple days.

I've been making my own the last few weeks. I mold it in little Tuppermaid containers that go in the fridge. I'll turn them out one at a time onto a small plate that I also keep in the fridge, uncovered. I've had bad luck with keeping butter on the counter, melting into weird shapes or being licked by the cats. I also don't have a lot of countertop space, so keeping it in the fridge is just easier all around.
