How do you keep your water trough clean???

when you water trough gets dirty.wait till its almost empty an then wash it out good.an then fill it back up.

I moved mine in the barn last summer so the water would be cooler from the shade. Well it made a huge difference. No slimy stuff and no tree junk falling in it. Most of the time you could find one of the barn cats laying next to it

we have a half a 55 gal drum cut long ways in the barn for a trough haven't had any problems with stuff growing in it yet. Just horse turds when our mustang gets mad at us for not taking him instead of the other boy out. We are going to need to get some for in the pastures we are putting in that are away from the barn, I will have to try the gold fish thing in thoses.
