I have noticed so many of my friends are loosing touch with their roots and reality. They are consumed with their phones and get stressed out if they don't get a signal. Where I live you won't get a cell phone signal and the other day I had a friend over who actually left because there was no signal and was freaked out. Afraid she would miss someone calling, texting, or posting on her fb.
I mean can people not enjoy face to face conversation anymore. It was annoying but that is not worst thing I have another friend who doesn't call my home phone and only calls the cell. Like she can't talk to me because it is a land line. Well I don't leave my cell on all the time, whats the point I don't get service out here. I only turn it on when I am not at home and need to call someone, which is not very often.
I have been told I am boring because I don't go out to the bars and party with friends. Well I am sorry but I grew up and I have more important things to do like raising kids. I go to church and I have responsibilities I am not obsessed with staying in touch with people anymore. (Except BYC'ers) LOL but I am not on here all the time either.
So my family and animals keep me down to earth. What keeps you grounded?
