How do you keep yourself down to earth??

YOu know what else keeps me grounded my fainting disorder. I fainted in the chicken run today. When I came too I had three chickens sitting on me. I like to think they were worried about me and not just trying to keep warm.

I will tell you that when we get married, I may spend $50 on a dress, but I am gonna go all out on the shoes. It is all about the shoes the second time around.

on a serious note...

Well I can completely relate to pretty much everything you just wrote. I even have that friend that will only call or text the cell and never the house line. I also live in an area where there is no cell reception. A month ago I had a friend here too that couldn't get his cell working and that is all he could talk about. Then because his cell wasn't working felt the need to go on my laptop without even asking, yes family friend, but still come on, he came here to visit and have coffee with us, so we thought.

I am never on the phone I dislike talking on phones because I find it very impersonal. Chat messaging isn't for me either, I much prefer to call a friend and invite them for lunch or coffee or what ever and then talk in person. but in truth be told the ones up here in this community that I thought were my friends won't get off their laptops to make time. so now I don't bother at all with them. In fact I ran into one of them this morning, and the first thing she said was, you know if you ever wanna chat you can message me on facebook I am always logged in. NO thanks....I told her I hated chat and left it at that.

I really enjoy my laptop, my cell is for emergencies only, but I much prefer to be outside working about my place and playing with my kids. the only time I am on the laptop a lot is winter, because its so darn cold around here and there is not much to do outside with all that snow.

I don't go to bars either and I rather go bowling with the kids than someone's house party where everyone will be drinking anyhow. I don't like big shopping malls or going to concerts, I like theatrical plays and musicals, well all my friends are mostly interested still at 32 yrs old, with Friday night parties, shopping sprees and hard rock concerts. that is just no me. The minute the snow is mostly gone you will find me somewhere outside with knee high rubber boots on with my dogs and kids, that is what keeps me grounded. not having internet, or cell reception doesn't stress me out, unless I have a flat and I am stuck, what stresses me out s having to drive through a massive city.

I didn't faint in coop, but tripped over my own feet & fell...the chickens all came running in hopes that the 'treat lady' had dropped all the treats! They were sorely disappointed & went about their business, leaving me to struggle to my feet...wenches!

Question: How do you keep yourself down to earth??

Answer: I don't. I don't pay good enough attention to "stuff" that it is any kind of problem for me. Now...what was the question?
I also don't answer my cell-phone MOST of the time. I only use it when it is unavoidable. I don't enjoy TV.....so it stays off.
I'm NEVER "bored". I'm ALWAYS short of time....so I quit worrying about it. If it doesn't get done before I die, I won't care.
What was the question?

I keep myself down to earth with the knowledge that Heaven isn't available to me yet.

I know what you mean, though, and it isn't real fun to live in a world gone techno, with adults that can't hold conversations unless it's about American Idol or Facebook, with a younger generation that take no pride in achievement or self-improvement~they just want toys and more toys as they grow older~and they want them NOW.

Since I never really embraced time and am still stuck in the 70s and 80s, I am pretty well grounded with my feet anchored by reality. Let the rest of the world do as it wishes, I will keep my landline, my wood heat, my old values, my original beliefs. I'll just wave as they whiz by!
