How do you kill Fire Ants? (and not hurt your chickens)

I got my last bottle of orange oil at Lowe's. Any garden center should have it in the organic pest control section. It is expensive, about $15 for a liter, but you only use an ounce or so per gallon.

I realize this is an old thread, but I cannot wait to try molasses on my fire ants! They are definitely the worst pests I have to deal with.

Use this product ONLY - Bifen XTS Multi Use Pest Control Insecticide Concentrate. Don't use surface spray or any other product. This product used as directed will initially make your any problem look 1000000 times worse as all the ants tell their mates that there is some GREAT TASTING stuff inside.

Good Luck. Cheers.
