how do you know if a duck is trying to have little one

Hello everyone,
I have a one duck that strays off to its self for hours then comes back to join the others. Is this a sign that she might have a nest else where. And I will let you all know that my duck have full run of my yard. And this duck go in the woods. But she always comes back

I have a duck who always wander off from the rest of the ducks during the day when she is broody, she only come out when she want food or water or it's time for them to go inside. Does this sound similar ?

Yes!! sound very similar. So Broody mean. She has a nest of eggs. I'm very new to duck world. lol

Must be broody. If you want some ducklings then let her hatch! If not then go find the nest.

She wouldnt let me see where she was nesting but I saw her come out one evening when I rang the dinner bell
