How do you know if hen is broody or egg binding ???

One of my hen is sitting in nesting box forever.
I took her out but she goes back in.
I checked her vent but looks normal and she comes out from box and eat and drink sometime.
She looks not suffering from some pain and I don't feel egg around her vent.
I took a egg from nesting box next from her box and she was hissing to me.
No eggs from her for 2days.

I'm guessing she is in broody mood but I want to make sure she is not egg binding.
What do you think??

My chicken gets broody every year for 2-3 weeks.. It sounds like she's broody if she doesn't like you taking the eggs from under neath her. Does she let the other chickens use the nest box? Or do they have more?

I have 3 nesting box so she can keep her own.
I had egg binding chicken before and she acted so "tired and sick" but this one is different.
She hisses to everyone (but won't attack) squat down and open her wings to side way, when I took her out from nesting box and put her far from coop, she ran like mad chicken!
I just want to make sure she is not sick!!

yes.. My chicken gets its wings out when i take her out and away from the coop. She'll be happy she can keep her nest box mine all use the same one even though there is 3 in there! They use the others to sleep in! Sounds like she is just broody but i'm not sure. Hope someone can give you more advise..

OK, so I should leave her alone???
I know she is eating and drinking and I can collect eggs without problems.
Or I should put her in broody cage??

With mine and leave her there but i have to check for mites as she is sat in almost all day meaning a higher risk of mites.. I have never heard about a broody cage. What is it?

Ohh. That would be a good idea as it would hopefully get her to stop being broody.. I might try that with mine as it can be a problem with the other chickens when it comes to laying..
I have never tried it so i don't know but i won't do her any harm so you might aswell try!
