So far I have seen development in all but 4 of my eggs (12 in the bator) but some are dark shells and this is only day 4 or 5 so it's still early.

Hubby thinks I'm crazy but that didn't stop him from checking on them several times yesterday while I was at work and making the necessary adjustments for me.

I put detailed directions on my page, check 'em out.

Happy Hatching

I thought I had myself under control... Then a friend called with some "Frobbit-chicken" eggs. My kids love the silkies with their fuzzy topps (fro's) and their furry feet (hobbits) so put it all into one cute chickie and you get frobbits.

Well, I didn't waste any time thinking should I? No, I just said, I'll be there in an hour and started inventorying what I have on hand and what I'll need to make a second incubator.

Or, maybe, I should make a hatcher.... hhmmm. Margie already has 3 or 4 bators, and tons more experience, so maybe while I grab the eggs I should ask for some show and tell and see what she has created for a hatcher....

Yep, I think that's the ticket! I need a hatcher.

.and for what its worth I don't think any of us are crazy..we're just addicted to our multitude of pets.

In tribute to this most awesome thread I changed my signature line to reflect PROPER thinking.

I am still laughing, and I'm still trying to buy more eggs. And I have a perfectly NORMAL number of chickens and turkeys. Really.

Got to get a whole lot more chicks this year. My 1st broody hen is sitting on 6. We'll be getting some EE's at the end of April and wanting to get some Silkies, Barnevelders, Penedesencas, Phoenix Favorelles, Sussex and whatever I see at the moment

I want to get some blue chickens, since I don't have any of those either and I think they are very pretty.
Me crazy???! You bet! I love it and it is spreading!!!

Margie called and said she had some fertile eggs from her pair of chickens that my daughters fell in love with. Zha-Zha is a white silkie and I forgot what Tazon is. I think he's simply dreamy.....

Speaking of blue chickens, I just put a dozen Blue Andalusian eggs in my incubator and was so happy the day they arrived that a dozen hatched and gave me room in my incubator. I cannot wait until I get my tack room done, then I will have 2 incubators and a separate area for everything.

So glad Im not alone in this. Everyone else in my family thinks im crazy...but wait I think im geting my mom there, first she decided she would let me just give her eggs, then well maybe I should get 4 (that turned to 6 with in a day. Then She decided she needs 12 ( so she can share eggs you know) and now she wants a few good egg laying ducks
