How do you know if your wafer is bad?

The signs of a bad wafer are when the temperature goes up and down too much. It won't hold a good steady temperature. When the micro switch is bad it either gets too hot or too cold and won't click on and off when you screw the wafer in and out. You turn it couter clockwise to increase temp and clookwise to lower the temp. I might be of more help if you would answer my questions in the previous post.

Pardon the error, there Pat. So, it looks like we're a couple of newbie incubator operators (well, at least you are, all I've done so far is play with the thermometers) that have studied over things a bit. Sounds good.

Thanks for the heads-up on the crooked wafer...I'll be on the lookout for it. I'm hoping to get my incubator set up before long...my plans are to start incubating around the end of May. My mother hasn't been doing well and things have been kind of hectic so I'm not getting a lot accomplished, but it'll all work out.

Yelp, tinkering and studying are definitely a huge part of it all. Basically all my reading is tech manuals...I get interested in something and POOF!!!...suddenly a small library forms.

Well, gotta get to bed, take care,
