How Do You Maintain Pre-Incubation Temps in Florida?

The hole is referred to as a root cellar. The temp stays around 50F under ground. It is what was used like a refrigerator before electric.

I have been thinking of building one for my vegetables from the garden.

I'm just south of you too in Lee county.
My bedroom ac is set at 75. I have my eggs in my egg turner on my dresser as I collect them every day.

I just hatched 23 out of 34, but it was also my first time. They were just stuck in a basket in my room and I didnt turn them before setting.
I also didn't have a turner when I set them.
I learned a few things from the first hatch. I think this time I'll do better on the hatch rate.

I can understand not going down 8' but you only need to be about 18" under the surface to take advantage of the grounds temperature.

I was thinking of dropping a spent fridge in the ground. You could put a small 30 gallon tub from Walmat & get the same thing.

But if I was in FL I wouldn't warry about storing up for the winter, I would just grow more.

King Most Places Here 18 Inches Deep = A Hole With Collapsed Walls And 8" Of Water In The Bottom=== We Just Cant Do It Here Bubba.... The Sand Is Too Loose---- Have A Heck Of A Time Digging Anything Bigger Than The Standard Post Hole Digger Diameter.

That is what the tote is for(to keep the walls up). Water in sand I would think would be water cooled for quick recovery after opening.

Put one in then tell some people about it & you would be selling them in no time.
