If it wasn't for my neighbor and his love for fresh eggs, I would be stuck at home all weekend while the family vacations at a beautiful lake without me.

I would love to know:
Do you ever get breaks from your flock? How do you manage it?

If you don't have it set up so you can take a couple days away you're doing it wrong.

I have 7 baby chicks I would like checked on twice a day. It would be awful if something that I hadn't thought of happened. Thank you for your comment though :)

I decline to be bound to my home by my animals. I can bulk feed and water everyone but the horses, just haven't found a way to do that. I have a father in law that feeds for us while we're gone and we feed and water plants for him while he's gone. 4-H or FFA kids are also a great way to go. Many neighbors are more than willing, we just seem to live in a culture where we don't know our neighbors or feel comfortable asking them for things like that anymore.
