I got a little flower arrangement as a gift and I really like one of the flowers in it. Am I able to save seeds from it? If so how? Idk what the flower is, but this is it. I know nothing about saving seeds from flowers and it doesn’t help that idk what kind of flower this is.

Sorry, you won't be able to save seeds from that flower. It was grown under controlled conditions and kept inside so it is unlikely to have been fertilized. Even if it was fertilized, it has a long way to go before seeds mature. Cut flowers by definition are cut off from nutrients and always die.

Oh really? Thanks, I had no idea. So that rings another question…I started flowers from seed this year and plan to have a small cut garden. If I wanted to save seeds from any of the ones I plant, would I need to let some of them live out their full lifespan in the ground where they’re growing?
