Here is a video on sexing them at day old which actually works better for me when they are a week old. I tend to get a better out come at a week old. Once the babies are about 2 or 3 months old you can hear the difference in the quack. The males sound like they are a raspy sick sound and the females actually quack. At 6 months the tail curl this is on ducks not sure of geese.

I am glad I found this thread. I am getting my 1st Indian runners ( 1st ducks ever ) at the end of May. a neighbor is sharing the order where ever Agway gets theirs from I can only order a straight run. I would not like to end up with all males, so am hoping I can tell which is which so we both get a female or 2 . we both are only getting 3 each

This is a good video. TY for sharing it.

our first ducks! got them with some chickens! they are peking/cayoga mixes. haven't named them yet. Born on May 21st of this year!

No clue if they are male or female!

ok thank you! they both sound very similar, so little hard to compare them to each other! I am not really worried about what they are, I know they won't crow like a roo so it's ok with me either way! And I believe husband wanted them because he just loves ducks! we have chickens so I know it's not an egg thing, although it would be nice to try a duck egg and add to the experience!

if you ever bake with duck eggs you'll be using them all the time.
