How do you ship chicks?

How do you ship chicks? Can someone who ships chicks please give me a step by step walk through.

I've never shipped chicks. Are you planning to ship day olds?

I'm not sure of the question, exactly. We receive ours via U.S. mail in a cardboard box with air holes in it.

Depending on time of year, and company, they have a minimum amount of chicks they put in a box, so they stay warm enough.

They don't need to eat/drink until they arrive, so that's not an issue.

Thanks Tutter. Yes I'm talking about hatching chicks and shipping them. I've never done it before and never received chicks in the mail either.

Like Tutter said, mine came in a cardboard box with air holes. Also, there was straw in the box.

Isn't their goverment regulations for shipping chicks? I thought you had to have special boxes and padding and everything.
