How do you shorten spurs on a rooster?

Title says it all. I wanted to know if it should be done since the rooster is still mounting the hens. And what is your preferred way of doing it include type of tools used. Thanks.

I used a dremel... I think that’s what it’s called, for my dogs nails. Just be careful - rooster Spurs have a quick just like dog nails. If you go too far, have some corn starch handy to stop any bleeding.
