How do you stay patient when you have eggs in the 'bator?

-Tape your hands behind your back?

-Run laps?

-Tape the 'bator shut?

-Write a giant list of possible baby names?

-Nest and get the brooder ready like you would if YOU were pregnant?

-Visit the feed store as much as possible "just to look"?

Think of names
Go swimming
Go do activities
Hang out with friends
There's a bunch of stuff to do, like also play with your chickens.

Buy another 'bator so you always have a hatch going - you don't have to wait as long that way!

Get onto BYC and stare at pics of new chick hatches.
I honestly have a harder time keeping myself from getting more eggs to add then I do staying away from whats in the incubator.
My neighbor keeps offering me brahmas and cochins at 1.50 a dozen to stick in my bator and the only thing that stops me is I dont want to do any more staggered hatches.
With my last clutch of geese eggs due to hatch next week Im gonna be out of excuses and may end up starting all over again.
Hopefully the 10 chicks in the bathtub are moved out by then.
Chicken math is killing me.

It's hard. I check temps constantly. Luckily I have other chickens to take care of. 80 of them:P .I have 10 chicks about a week old, and a 3 week old midget chick in a brooder in the living room to play with. I have 12 rabbits to play with, and two kids to help. Guess the kids should have came first

That would get me in serious trouble! We're suburbanites with limited space for now. We plan on renting my Dad's house when he eventually finds a place he'd like to retire to, but who knows when that will be. I'll have 1/4 lot then, but for now, I have to pace myself.

I play on the computer, write in my blog, surf BYC, After 4 hatches it is not so bad for me anymore. I just got done with my last, I think. Might do one more.
