I bought a 50# bag a few weeks ago and haven't opened it yet. I still have some small baggies I ordered online still. But I was wondering once you open it how do you guys store such a large amount. The humidity is bad here and I have it currently down at the horse stall. But want to bring it up to my carport to use it at the chicken coop. So do you guys just leave it in the original bag or store it in another container? Has anyone had trouble storing it or problems with humidity or moisture?

Mine is in a garbage can with a lid. But, we dont have humidity problems where I live. We just keep it in the can because with the last one, the bag fell apart and the stuff was everywhere!! Gaaaah

We keep ours in the utility room inside the house. So far its been fine. Posin Ivy Have you tried feeding it to your horses. I have been giving it to our horse for two months now. 1/2 cup daily in her feed It has cut down the flies in our yard and I find it has helped with her coat. I also give it to our goats free choice mixed in with their baking soda. I can't believe what a difference in the amount of flies since I started using it. Micki

If it is humid where you live as it is here, you can use one of the large Sterelite Totes available for about $ 6 at the
Dollar General or Walmart. The lid snaps on tightly enough and it keeps well. I had my first 50# bag for three years. Then I started using it for ant hills. It work wonders, so on 2 acres it went a bit faster than as just an additive for the 6 chickens I had at the time.

Tink I give it to my goats free choice mixed in with some baking soda. No they do not have fleas. Nor do they have ticks. Its supposed to help with intrnal parasites. it also helps with digestion.

Speaking of DE. Our local feed store doesn't carry pure Food Grade DE. It's got volcanic ash mixed into it so I can't have it at our house unless it's under lock an key which is hard to do for a 50 pound bag! Where does everyone buy their DE at online? Thanks, Jamie
