How do you store your poultry feed?

34 (birds) X .15 (pounds) = 5.1 (pounds) X 7 (days) = 35.7 lbs/week  Dainty eaters.  (like, all Leghorns)

34 (birds) X .2 (pounds) = 6.8 (pounds) X 7 (days) = 47.6 lbs/week  Average eaters.  (like, Mixed Flock)

34 (birds) X .25 (pounds) = 8.5 (pounds) X 7 (days) = 59.5 lbs/week  Heavy eaters. (like, all Jersey Giants)

Sounds exactly right.
Gifa, where did you get these figures? Curious.. Was looking everywhere for solid information :)

The kitty litter bucket lids are NOT water tight. I've used them outdoors for years--storing rock, etc., and they ALWAYS fill with rain water.

They are NOT water tight.  Rain water fills them right up.  Great for indoor storage, though!
Didn't you already say that? :p

Also great for homemade nesting boxes!

Not my picture..

If I bought the stuff in the containers, I would use them for nesting boxes, but I'd somehow create a lip.. Or keep the top on and cut a small hole.

I collated how much your birds seem to eat, with how much my birds do eat, with this data:

http://www2.ca.uky.edu/afspoultry-files/pubs/How_much_will_my_chicken_eat.pdf

So obviously bantams and lighter or more economical birds such as silkies and leghorns etc, will eat less than an equal number of dog sized chickens... (which is why factory/battery farms employ leghorns and not Jersey Giants)
I have a mixed flock, (2 lightweight EEs, a leghorn, 2 large/heavy EEs and 2 Wyandottes)... and my flock's average daily consumption per bird comes out to .19 lbs each daily.
This link suggests .25 lb of feed per day per bird as a rule of thumb. Rules of thumb tend to weight recommended values to blanket all scenarios.

May make a difference that I free range as well.

I've started fermenting my feed and they've consumed 2/3 less than they typically do. 1 bag in 5 days for over 100 birds.
