How do you strain fermented feed?

We usually ferment at least some of the homemade feed we make for our girls. DH just scoops it out with a slotted scoop (like what you use for pasta, etc.) into a bowl to serve it up, it seems to work out fine. Perhaps I am misunderstanding your question, or oversimplifying?

I don't currently use fermented feed, but when I did, I used a big wire strainer like this one. I just scooped up a bunch and sort of wiggled it around a bit until most of the liquid drained out. The tiny holes did clog up fast, but if you wiggle enough or use a spoon to sort of mix it, it works.
