How do you tell if an egg is fertile or not?
Do you just have to set them and wait for them to hatch? the ones that don't do you check them and see if they were developing?
I had gotten a trio of Ameracaunas. They said the rooster was fertile and producing but my eggs have not hatched.

Two ways to tell if an egg is fertile. First you can incubate the egg. Then wait and if when you candle it is developed well it was fertile. The other way is to crack an egg open and look for the white spot on the yolk. All eggs have this spot but if its fertile it will look like a bulls eye. Found this http://animalsinthecity2.webs.com/whativelearned.htm . Go to the middle part of fertile and infertile eggs.

When its just fresh there's no telling. After the hen has been sitting on it or has been in an incubator you can tell be holding it against a bright light (you can see blood veins in the egg) or put it in water; a fertilized egg will float, and a non fertilized egg will sick.
