How do you tell if an egg is fertile?

Well found egg #2 above the ground when I went down to the chicken pen. Me and my mom literally cracked the case. We cracked open the egg (we had a hole to bury it in) and we poured out this green soup looking liquid came out!!! So now I still have my two other eggs and yay at least that are still there! :D

It's been more than three weeks and still no babies! :( it's growing but it's taking sooo long an it's almost October but the eggs haven't been kicked out!! It's weird how it is still growing and hasn't hatched yet. Any ideas
