How do you tell the difference between hen and rooster when they're chicks or older.

I'm still learning so take my guesses with a grain of salt, but I see the following as cockerels: Sheriff, Shelby and Thelma. The other two I can't say because of the angles of the pics. Need side shots of the heads. Hard for me to judge from head-on shots.

ETA: Louie might be a pullet. I missed that one the first time.

Thank you so much for making it clear. Don't really want roosters here, though they are going to make a rooster flock out the farm. They can be as noisy as they like and serenade the sheep lol.

I'm pretty sure Rose is a pullet, she fluffs herself up like she's having a dust bath.

Thelma and Louise are Araucana breed. Not sure of the others.

And I have to add... I think Rose is special. She's kind of slow.

Rose looks like the only potential pullet to me... None are pure Araucana. Louie looks to be the only one with some potential Araucana blood due to having a pea comb (assuming all are f1 mixes) :)
Agreed.

Post updated pics of Rose in 2 more weeks. I'd also post updated pics of Louie. I believe he's a slower developing cockerel, but updated pics could prove that theory wrong.

Agreed that none are pure Araucana.
