I am doing a new pen/coop, and wondering the best way to provide Water to the chickens, so im looking for ideas!
So how do you water your chickens?

My other pen has just a container with a hole cut in for there heads to fit, with a hose to it, but they often run out of water.

something like this maybe? I ave plenty of these they are AMAZING!

I use 2” pipe with watering nipples. I have a 5ft. stack that is outside the coop and a elbow (90) turning into the coop which is then connected to a tee. From both ends of the tee I have 2 1/2 ft of pipe and clean out caps on both ends to drain it when it gets below freezing temps.

I have a 5 gallon bucket with a couple poultry nipples in it. It lasts 10 chickens for, oh, two weeks or so. They can't foul the water with the lid on so it's just a matter of adding water as needed and cleaning it a couple times per year to keep it from getting green. In winter, I add a bucket de-icer but if you're somewhere that only gets light frost, you won't need to.

I am a mamma hen. I add apple cider vinegar and i change waterers daily. My step dad uses a gravity waterer he has trouble keeping it defrosted in winter. But my waterer calls for it to be replaced a couple times during the day if temps are below freezing. So where are u? What temps do u hit in the cold months? Do u want to maintain it through those frigid days??
