My husband, Steven, is my hero. He has made my world such a wonderful place and I'm truly lucky to have such a special man in my life.

Day in and day out he takes care of things on our micro farm and makes it look so easy. I tell him to slow down and he keeps on keeping on.

Yesterday he left for NY to bring our grandson to see his mother. We've had custody of our grandson since he was 2. He was 8 yesterday. He asked if I could handle all that he does here and I said yes. I mean, what's so hard about feeding/watering chickens, feeding/watering 20 something parrots and cleaning their cages, taking care of 4 dogs (2 are puppies under 7 months old), 1 cat, 6 ducks, a new goose, chickens brooding and incubating, guineas, plus all the daily chores in the house? Oh, I forgot, I have weeding our garden and planting to do as well.

As I sit here and think about all that he does for ME, for US, for our FAMILY, I can't help but wonder....how does he make it all look so easy all the time???

Don't get me wrong, I do a good portion of things around here but because of an accident I had 3 years ago, I'm limited on some things I can do. I am awestruck how this spectacular man does the things he does, day in and day out.

Steven is MY Superman! Even though I tell him several times a day how much I love him, I'm going to make sure that he understands exactly how appreciative I am for all that he does for US!

He sounds like a wonderful man. Go check out the tell me one nice thing about your spouse thread on Family Stories. I try to make it a habit to think of one nice thing about hubby or that hubby has done each and every day!

What a blessing of a man you have there! I am also a lucky woman with a wonderful hardworking husband. We make a great team and it sounds like you and Steven do too.

Thanks! I'll have to check it out. When I met this man I was recently divorced from a spouse and child abuser who basically kept me prisoner in my own home with no access to a phone, car, or money.

Steven has opened up a whole new world for me these last 11 years and shown me that love doesn't have to hurt.
