How does one catch a groundhog?

My German Shorthaired Pointer never leaves a mark when she kills them either. She shakes them like crazy til limp, then crunches a couple times. It's over in seconds, with just a bit of wetness where she grabbed it.

Just curious, is the trap big enough for it?
Some groundhogs are just huge, we had to upgrade to larger trap here. (Peaches do work well)
DH dumps bodies (OK, that sounds harsh) in their tunnel entrances and covers them up...sort of a warning to other groundhogs....
