how does one get rid of the white stuff left on a bird after the bird has successfully been treated for mites? my black silkie rooster had mites a while back and he was treated for them but the white stuff remained on his butt fluff.

Pictures would help. White fluff at the base of feather shafts may be lice nits/eggs.
If you did not clean out and treat the coop as well as the bird(s) then it's probably just going to keep recurring. What did you treat with, and how long ago? Usually it will take at least two to three treatments for the birds and the coop at 7 day intervals to make sure you've gotten them all (unless you use Elector PSP).

its not just at the base though, its all over his bum fluff till the top of the feather fluff and it comes off a little bit if I brush him

okay I will get a pic of his butt fluff if he lets me:rolleyes: he doesn't like his manly dignity ruined by being seen by the public being a mommies boy
