How early can lockdown be?

I am not surprised, they are gorgeous. I am going to sell some of these BLRW chicks and I think just keep the more grey ones and see how they feather out.
What do you think about the comparison in color between the LO and the Lavender Marans, project color?

Have not seen lavender Marans but I imagine they would be beautiful!

Very sad news, we had a freak rainstorm before it snowed. The rain froze to the power lines, causing damage. The power has been out since late last night. I held the eggs as long as I could, but the one faded out before the blizzard cleared enough for me to run for the coop. I managed to slip the living one under my Sizzle who I had just broke of broodiness, I guess she wasn't quite so "broke" as she accepted the pipped egg with no issue. I highly doubt it will live, it's peeping quit ten minutes before I could get it under her. I will check on it later, I don't want to open the coop door in 10°F yet.

I'm more concerned about my days old chicks! They have no heat and are freezing, I grabbed a month and a half old chick to put in there for their warmth. I was so unprepared for this freak storm we're expecting another 10 inches of snow
