So I just remembered that I set a bunch of chicken eggs to hatch on the 26, and a few quail eggs too. Then it occured to me that quail only take 18 days to hatch. Can they hatch earlier than that like chicken eggs can do? When should I be looking for pips? Any quail hatching tips I should be aware of? I've never hatched quail, so I'm really excited. They all seem ok, but it's hard to tell cause they're so dark to candle.
UPDATE: I was in my bedroom talking on the phone when I heard faint cheeps from my bator. To my surprise, one of the little guys had fully hatched! Praise Jesus he got stuck, otherwise he would have been crushed by the turner. So I pulled him out, put him in a box, checked the other eggs, and found one more pipped! He hatched on day 16. Such a strong little one, and so cute!
