How early do start shopping for the holidays?

We usually start in November, but don't really get going until Black Friday. We only shop for immediate family. I don't like to shop too early because the kids' tend to change their minds a lot.

This year I'm due to have a baby right after Thanksgiving, so I plan on doing a lot of online shopping this year and DH can do the in-store shopping.

I finished in early October. I always start on my birthday, August 31st, and allow myself 2 months to shop. I may get a little thing or two at the after Thanksgiving sales madness, but not often. That's usually when I just get other things we want/need.

I start sometime in October and usually buy one or two last minute things on December 23.

I really love Christmas shopping and don't have a lot of people to shop for, so I try to make it last.

I shop through out the year. I am on a budget, so I always look through sales and clearance racks year round. I have found alot of good deals!! The hard part is wait til Christmas to give the gift to the person I bought it for, lol! I also make things too. This year I am making Bath Salts for my MIL, SIL, and a few Aunts.

I also like to pick up things I know will make good gifts for kids birthday parties too (as I find them on sale); I put them in a box and when a birthday party rolls around for a niece or cousin (or friend's child) All I have to do is choose which present from my "box-o-gifts" I want to give them, and wrap it

Now that my daughter is older, I let her pick the present from my box to give to the birthday kiddo.

I started shopping this month. I already have a couple things for my daughter and something for my son. DH has just filled me in on what he wants for Christmas, but to be honest, I a little scared to go online and see how much it costs LOL.
