How easy is it to mix day old chicks with week old chicks?

Mine came from the same parent stock, so I took a small chance that the second group was just as healthy as the first group.

mine were all hatched from my own eggs, i put 13 chicks that were 2 days old in with 6 chicks that were 9 days old with no problems. last year i did the same thing several times with no issues.

I just added 4 2 day old wyandottes to my brooder with 3 2 week old bantys. I took the bantys out for the afternoon while the younger wyandottes got used to the brooder. Then I added them in and they all are getting along just fine.

I just merged 9 4 week olds with 24 2 week olds -- not a single problem. I probably should have done it earlier. It was easy!
