How eggsciting! Call ducks feeling hatchy! *PICS!* MORE!

Okay, let's see if I can get the pics in here...for the record, #2 hatched out just fine on his own with no help, other than the airhole I poked, and #1 is getting on fine. I think he could not get up because his shell weighed more than he did, but it's gone now!

OMG Duckluck, they are soooo beautiful, That is so good that you got 2 hatch...... one can drive you nuts! are any other eggs doing anything? anyway congrats on 2 beauties, with hopefully many more to come! Did you do the cooling off of the eggs with this lot?

All other eggs quit in various ways, all dead upon opening. I candled through and saw no late comers to our hatching party here, so I eggtopsied them and saw many different things. Two I think I could have saved if I had been more aggressive sooner and pipped them inside and out, but that's ducks under the bridge now. I will be narrowing down my timing more with the next batch.

This batch was a late comer to the cooling down method, I think I started it maybe a week before hatcher time? Other two batches in the incubator now are being hand turned, one is being misted already and the other is going to start being misted tonight. Since this hatch was in the drum incubator already I placed these two batches in the GQF, which appears a bit more consistent on temperature throughout and is a tried and true performer that has hatched thousands of eggs. Hopefully we will do better next time, I sure am hoping for more!

They're adorable! I'm super-jealous. I set 6 mixed-breed eggs (most of them are out of my Hookbill, and fertilized by my Buff Runner drake) yesterday - but mine sure won't be as cute and tiny as your Calls!

They have the patent on cute! They come up to the front of the brooder a lot when I look in there at them, and when I walk away, they peep like crazy!
