How eggsciting! Call ducks feeling hatchy! *PICS!* MORE!

Thanks! I guess we will find out soon...I just set some 32 eggs last night that of the group, only one was washed. The others were dipped and allowed to air dry, but still have their bloom on. One other variable on this next group is that they are back down in the Humidaire model 50 drum this time, because of problems with temp fluctuations on my GQF here. Once I have all the eggs out of it, I think it will need to be serviced. Though the model 50 seems to have some colder spots, I can say that it seems to stick pretty well to what it is set at.

Though I must say, the guy in the picture was also hatched entirely by hand...he pipped his membrane and I had to do the rest over the course of a couple of days, so he was sticky. For whatever reason, he gave up on trying to hatch himself and his membranes dried. So some of that may also be the dried stickies re-moistened by the water.

I am curious...when you don't wash eggs and you have a lot of them, does bacteria build up in the incubator as it keeps continuously running and you set more hatches? That was a concern I had, and was wondering if anyone does anything to the bator while it is still running to help keep that in check while continuing to set trays of eggs every week? Because I am on about a 7-8 day timetable here with hatches, allowing me a few days in between to clean the hatcher and get it back up, running and ready. That GQF had three weeks' worth of settings in it prior to this hatch, each week on its own shelf.
