Hi All,
I just read up on cocci, and they advised I keep the chickens away from wild bird feeders. Unfortunately, I have a lot of bird feeders (about 20) in one area of my backyard near the fish pond. How far away should I put the coop and run from these feeders? I wanted to have the coop and run (they're portable) near that area in the winter (for my convenience and electricity if I need it).

Also, can the chickens go to that area when they are allowed out? It'll be impossible to keep chickens away from it. What should I do?

Thanks

Remove the bird feeders. Wild birds also carry lice/mites, fowl pox, hosts for tapeworms just to name a few and that's for starters. Remember biosecurity.
