How far do chickens wander?

That's the key...I kind of trained mine...I say "Chick chick chicks! Here chicks!" as I'm throwing out treats...so they associate that voice/words with treats and they come running. That's how I call them to find them when they are free ranging. Alot of the time though they see my coming and come anyway!

Mine love strawberries, cherry tomatoes, and especially cooked spaghetti noodles!

Mine will eat anything, but to win them over quickly try scratch or whole grain bread. And they come FAST. It's so funny to watch them barreling across the yard, flapping their wings adn runing as fast as their little legs will go!

My girls and roo don't wander very far from their coop and run. They come home to rest so we simply go out late in the day and lock their door to keep them safe.

Went outside and chickens were MIA! They've never left yard really-so after searching for a half hour with no luck I gave my german shepard a feather to smell and told her to search! She took me right to them! I guess that training really works! If only I could train the chickens that well!

I have had a chicken fall into my pool before. In her case, she just floated there like a duck. I am not sure if anything different would happen, considering they are seperate birds.
