The red-headed mutation is my absolute favourite. Also, yes. I'm missing part of an earlobe from the last time I bought budgies still...Goodness sakes, I'd hate to know what people have to go through to get their hands on a finch over there! Are you required to literally pay an arm and a leg?
Yes, Zebs are affordable AND irresistible.....I'm impressed you had the self control to NOT snatch a pair up on the spot. Here, Owls are far more expensive than Gouldians.
He's quickly become my favorite, though, as his personality is reminiscent of that of a Zebra, minus the aggression.
Totally worth it.
Fingers crossed you find a stunning Gouldian or two or ten in the not too distant future.ALL of the mutations are gorgeous, but I HAD to go with a normal Red-Headed for starters. He's a living rainbow! Who knows, a Blue or Yellow-Backed might be next.....

Okay, PLEASE tell me how you've managed to accumulate practically every single one of my favourite finch species, because it's NOT fair.I might as well show my Spice Finch a little love (since this thread has morphed into exhibiting the babies), simply so she doesn't feel left out.Since Hoot entered her life, she's warmed up to human interaction.
Such a beautifully marked, meek, quiet bird.

I'll say it again: living rainbow! The red-headed mutation is my absolute favourite. Also, yes. I'm missing part of an earlobe from the last time I bought budgies still...
Because I knew deep down, and bought them for the sake of spiting you....Okay, PLEASE tell me how you've managed to accumulate practically every single one of my favourite finch species, because it's NOT fair.
I'd shell out that eye in a heartbeat if I could find one to sell it for.I'll say it again: living rainbow! One simply can't go wrong with this mutation.
Oh boy. Next time we talk, you'll probably be missing an eye.....but you'll have your Gouldian to show for it!
Because I knew deep down, and bought them for the sake of spiting you....Kidding.
I bought my Spice finch in March as a companion for the lone baby Zebby I decided to keep out of that month's hatch (she's the photo bomber
). Not terribly expensive, either!
